Number settings

Clicking a row on any Numbers tab opens that number’s settings: one scrolling page of cards. What the number is isn’t editable here — you can’t reassign it to a different member, campaign or vendor, and you can’t change its kind. That was fixed when you bought it.

Card Users Shared Vendor Outbound Pool
Name yes yes yes
Recording yes yes yes yes
Inbound (agent-direct) yes
Campaigns yes note only
Agents yes yes
Attributes yes yes
Remove yes yes yes

A friendly label shown beside the number in the lists, and for a shared number in the campaign Inbound picker. Up to 60 characters. A member’s number arrives pre-filled as their name’s Number, which you’re free to change. Pool numbers have no name — nobody picks one from a list.

Call recording decides whether calls on this number are recorded, and the hint under the toggle names which calls that means for the kind of number you’re on. On a member’s direct line, the calls that ring in — and, though the hint doesn’t say so, the ones they dial by hand from it. On a shared number, the calls that arrive in the queue, plus outbound calls when a campaign uses it as its fixed caller ID. On a vendor number, the calls that arrive in the queue. On a pool number, the campaign calls dialed from it.

The card adds one condition — it also requires account-level recording to be on. That switch is account-wide, and it isn’t a control on this screen or anywhere else in Admin. So if this toggle is on and calls still aren’t recording, that’s the reason, and it isn’t something you can fix from here.

Only a member’s own number has this card, because only a member’s number rings one person; shared and vendor numbers behave as their campaign’s queue settings say instead.

Ring time (seconds) — how long their phone rings before the fallback runs, from 5 to 120. When nobody answers is the fallback itself.

Action What the caller gets
Hang up (missed) The call ends and is logged as missed
Transfer to a number Handed straight to a number you type in Transfer to
Voicemail Your greeting plays and they can leave a message
Play message, then hang up A message plays, then the call ends
Send to a campaign queue They join a campaign’s inbound queue and ring whoever’s ready
Play message, then send to a campaign A message first, then that queue

Each action reveals what it needs. Transfer to a number adds a destination field that tidies a plain 10-digit number into full form when you click away, and flags anything undialable on the spot. Voicemail and the message actions add a clip picker, where your own audio comes from the Media Library. The campaign actions add Send to campaign, listing Inbound and Blended campaigns only. Saving is refused if you pick a transfer with no destination, or a campaign action with no campaign.

Default (built-in) doesn’t mean the same thing in every clip picker. Voicemail and Play message, then hang up have a built-in spoken message and will use it. Play message, then send to a campaign does not — leave it on the default and there’s no announcement at all: the caller goes straight to the campaign’s hold music.

The fallback doesn’t always wait out the ring time: if the member isn’t signed in to the dialer, it runs the moment the call arrives, and if they decline the call it runs then too. A member who’s simply busy on another call still gets the full ring. IVR menus aren’t here yet, and the card says so.

On a shared number this is the tick-list of campaigns it feeds — the same setting as Sources on a campaign’s Inbound tab. Outbound campaigns aren’t offered.

Tick two or more and every ticked row gains a star control — the chosen one reads ★ queue source, the others ☆ set. The starred campaign supplies the hold music and wait time the caller gets, and the rest are still offered the call.

Untick everything and it’s an unassigned shared number again — it does not return to the outbound pool, and it stops reaching anyone (see Shared). A vendor number gets this card as a note only: its campaigns follow the vendor, and you change them there.

Who may be handed a call arriving on this number — the same setting as Users → Attributes, edited from this end. Ticking someone doesn’t put them on the call: they still have to be ready in one of the campaigns the number feeds. With nobody ticked, the card warns in amber that the number routes to no agent at all.

Extra requirements layered on top of the Agents list: only agents holding every attribute you tick are eligible here. Attributes are defined under Settings → Attributes.

Remove number releases it back to the carrier. It asks you to confirm first, and says only that this can’t be undone. Once it’s done, billing stops and the credit it held is free for another number.

A member’s number has no Remove card, so it can’t be released from the Numbers section at all, even after that member is deactivated. See Users.

One Save changes in the header commits the whole screen, tick-lists included, and counts your unsaved changes. Nothing is written until you press it, and leaving with changes pending asks first.
