Vendor

A vendor number is the line one lead partner sends calls to. You give the number to that partner and nobody else, so every call arriving on it is theirs — which is what makes the vendor’s volume, cost and quality reportable at all. It’s bound to that vendor permanently, and one vendor gets one number.

Calls arriving on it are offered to the campaigns the vendor feeds, exactly like a shared number — the difference is bookkeeping, not routing.

Column What it means
Vendor Whose line it is. Amber Unassigned means the number isn’t tied to a vendor
Number The number, with its friendly name above it when it has one
Presence Where it’s from, as city, state
Campaign The vendor’s primary campaign and a count of the others it feeds
Recording on or off
Status active, pending or failed

Click a row for the number’s settings — its name, recording, eligible agents and attributes, plus Remove. Which campaigns it feeds is not set there: a vendor’s number follows its vendor, so you change that on the vendor itself, under Vendors.

This is the one number tab you can’t buy from, and it’s not an oversight — a vendor number has to be bought for a vendor, so the purchase lives with the vendor rather than with the inventory. Open the vendor and use its own Numbers tab.

The empty state says the same thing: add a vendor, then buy its number from the vendor’s Numbers tab.

So the tab isn’t a dead end, it carries Add Vendor instead. It’s the same form as the one in the Vendors section, and creating one here drops you into Vendors so you can open the new vendor and buy its number.

Name — internal. Admins see it here, in your logs, and in the vendor’s posting instructions.

Codename — what agents see: the lead’s source, the tag on the contact, and the banner on a live call. Leave it blank and the name is used.

TypeInbound — live-transfer number or Outbound — API lead posting. Inbound is the one that gets a number: a purchased line that fans live calls out to your campaigns. Outbound sends you contacts rather than calls.

The row’s menu offers Release number, and the confirm spells out what a vendor loses: the vendor keeps every lead, post and record it ever sent you — it just has no number until you buy another. Anyone still dialing the old one, including the partner’s own live transfers, reaches nothing. It’s irreversible, so you have to type the number out to confirm it.
